Frequently asked questions

Q.  Do I have to be a guest at The James Madison Inn?

       A.  No, The Spa is open to anyone.

Q.  Do I have to make an appointment or can I just walk in and get a service?

       A.  Appointments are preferred; especially if you have two or more people wanting services.

Q.  How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?

       A.  For one person getting a single service 1 - 2 days is usually sufficient. However, if you have 2 or more people wanting to schedule                2 or more services each or you have specific times you require we suggest booking 1 - 2 weeks out. Weekends are particularly                      busy; we recommend booking 2 weeks prior to your preferred date.

Q.  Can I bring my kids to sit while I get my service?

        A.  The Spa does not offer child care; please do not leave your children unattended while here. Our goal is to provide a quiet and                    relaxing atmosphere for all of our guests.  You will enjoy your services much more if you leave the children at home with                              someone.

Q.  Do you offer services for children?

       A.  Yes, we can perform services on children: Hair Cuts, Manicures, Pedicures, Massage.  However, anyone 16 & under  must have                 a parent or guardian in the room while they receive services.

Q.  Do you offer discounts for groups?

       A.  Generally we do not offer discounts.  However, we do offer a complimentary, private relaxation room for your party to                              gather before and during your spa day.

Q.  Can I bring in wine or champagne for my spa party?

       A.  No, The Spa does not have a permit to allow the consumption of alcohol on the premises.  This is a new city/state law requiring                 a permit, even though it is not being sold by The Spa.

Q.  Can I get a massage while I am pregnant?

       A.  After your first trimester you can schedule a massage or other spa treatments. However, you should always  consult with your                    doctor before receiving any services to be sure.
